Let your soul guide you
He’ll guide you well
When you’re down and they’re counting
When your secrets all found out
When your troubles take to mounting
When the map you have leads you to doubt
When there’s no information
And the compass turns to nowhere that you know well
Just let your soul be your pilot
Let your soul guide you
He’ll guide you well
When the doctors failed to heal you
When no medicine chest can make you well
When no counsel leads to comfort
When there are no more lies they can tell
No more useless information
And the compass spins
The compass spins between heaven and hell
Just let your soul be your pilot
Let your soul guide you
He’ll guide you well
And your eyes turn towards the window pane
To the lights upon the hill
The distance seems so strange to you now
And the dark room seems so still
Let your pain be my sorrow
Let your tears be my tears too
Let your courage be my model
That the north you find will be true
When there’s no information
And the compass turns to nowhere that you know well
Let your soul be your pilot
Let your soul guide you
Let your soul guide you upon your way…
If you want to let your soul be your pilot, the only question is: What is your soul ?
It is that unstoppable life-force within each of us which longs for fulfillment ,
just as each plant does grow towards the light.
The sensitive poet and occultist William Butler Yeates said something along the lines :
The crookedness of a plant does not reflect on its capability to evolve, but only does show to us the obstacles it did encounter.
Dear Thilo,
You have been missed. I once again return to listen to your offering of Sting’s song “Let your soul be your pilot”.
Continuing the spirit and tenet of your excellent post here, I would like to reciprocate and offer the following song covered by Sting and written by G De Paul and D Raye.
Please enjoy!
Yours sincerely,

Thank you so much for your lovely post to which I did respond already, dear Soundeagle.
The reason I was evicted btw was because my apartment was sold to someone who wants it for themselves.
(They never told me however – I spoke to them in the morning friendly and in the evening they had thrown the lawyer’s eviction notice into my mailbox.)
Now that I have heared your ongs, I finally also got around to listening to the Sting song above also,
and have to let you know that I myself was a HUGE cool-Jazz-fan, especially of Miles Davis for 7 years and instantly recognized this old Classic of which there are many beautiful versions around.
The reason I had to stop listening to Jazz was because it nearly killed me being sad all the time and I did not get anything done anymore.
I also did explain this to you in the other post.
Apart from Miles Davis I also can recommend to you Path Metheny, which also should be to your liking,
but in the end maybe it also is the best if you counteract your tremendous emotional side (which is so lovely and beautiful, but also may cause so much pain to you in private).
I love you and wish you all the best,
and now you know my reason why I do write such theoretical and non-emotional articles, because I want to help people to become stable instead of being sentimental.

Dear Thilo,
It seems that I (being your companion fire horse) remain the only person to read and like all of your posts published on your blog. I am in the process of replying to your comment that you submitted to my post entitled “Romancing by the Beach and Sea with True Love and Reminiscence“. In my forthcoming comment, I shall address the issue of emotion.

Dear Thilo,
One of our fellow Buddhists has recently passed away by sacrificing and burning himself to death outside the US Supreme Court on Earth Day (22 April 2022) in protest of climate inaction and of the court’s decision on the case of West Virginia versus EPA, a case that could limit or revoke the ability of the United States Environmental Protection Agency to regulate carbon dioxide emissions, for the conservative majority on the court has indicated that they may do so. The least we can do is to raise awareness to strengthen his purpose.

Dear Thilo,
Perhaps you can publish a new post stating that you have just been informed by SoundEagle of Wynn Bruce courageously paying the ultimate price for symbolically defending Mother Earth, and that you are deeply touched by his gesture, regardless of how much of a difference his death may ultimately amount to.
The following are notes accompanying the video:

Do you think that the late Wynn Bruce had let his soul be his pilot?

Oh my god! I just saw your comment now. This is of course much tougher than my little eviction notice!
The guy was 5 years younger than us. What I can understand is how passionate he was about the environment and he surely looked intelligent and sensitive enough to empathically feel the planet burning so much that he burnt himself alife.
The only reason why I personally would not do it is because as we know, the people who do damage this planet most are the most ruthless ones – and those surely won’t stop until the very very end – hence I am not sure if his sacrifice will have an impact.
It did remind me about the Buddhist who did burn himself in Vietnam, and looking up the

I am asking myself and you:
Do you think that a self-imoolation or hunger-strike to death ever had an impact on the political landscape ?
It seems to me that the ruthless will dismiss them as idiots and continue on their non-spiritual worldly course.

Dear Thilo,
Whether “a self-im[m]olation or hunger-strike to death ever had an impact on the political landscape” will depend on how much publicity and public pressure it can or will generate.
